STANLEY GREYHOUND STADIUM

The greyhound track in Stanley, County Durham was situated at Murray Park with reference 1° 41' W 54° 52' N.  It first opened for racing on 26th August 1937 and was run independently throughout its history. The track had a circumference of 367 yards and held sprint races over 275 yards, standard races over 450 yards and distance races over 635 yards. The principal races at the track were the Stanley Derby and Stanley St Leger.
